Function:Thanks to its abundant amphiphilic alpha-helices, it may integrate into membrane phospholipids, leading to lysis of the membrane. Its hemolytic activity is inhibited by phospholipids, but not by cholesterol. Has antibacterial activity with a broad spectrum against various species of bacteria including both Gram-positive and Gram-negative groups. Has also ichthyotoxic activity.
