Record in detail

General Info

  • lamp_id:L02A000238
  • Name:WAG13_TROWA
  • FullName:Waglerin-3
  • Source:Tropidolaemus wagleri
  • Mass:2522 Da
  • Sequence Length:22 aa
  • Isoelectric Point:10.26
  • Activity:Antibacterial,Antifungal,Antiviral,
  • Sequence
        GGKPDLRPCHPPCHYIPRPKPR
  • Function:Waglerin-1 selectively blocks the epsilon subunit of muscle nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR). Has also effects on rodent ionotropic GABA(A)/GABRA1 receptors, since it potentiates I(GABA) in some neurons and depresses I(GABA) in others. In mice, it elicits tachypnea, ocular proctosis, rapid collapse and spasms, whereas no toxic effects on respiration and blood pressure are observed in rats.
